We will miss JE popping in and sitting to chat on the way to or from the taste freeze. He was our local newsman. He was a faithful member of Hebron and it was unusual for him not to be in his pew on Sunday morning. We have the family in our thoughts and prayers.

This is such sad news. J.E. was a very special cousin. When we were younger the distance between us was so short and as the years went by the physical and emotional distance grew, due to the events of our lives. Howeve, he has always been close in my heart as the kind and generous man he was. I am so thankful we were able to reconnect several years ago and I will always hold dear the visit with him and everyone that special Sunday. It was as if I had come home.

So glad we were visiting in June and got to spend time with JE, Elaine, and Kathy Jo. Always a blessing to visit with family and go down to church. Our heart is broken and our prayers are with each of you. May God strengthen all during this time of recovery.

We are saddened by the passing of JE. He and my father Don “DM” Owen were the best of friends growing up, and were able to renew their friendship once dad retired and moved back down to Charlotte County. I always enjoyed having porch-side chats with JE, discussing the latest and greatest about racing and car technology. His recollection about his trips to Maryland in the early 50s down the 301 highway are legendary, and I will cherish the memories of JE’s outlook on life, his wisdom, and his always-positive outlook on life – DM Owen III, Caidon Owen, Cylia Owen
