Angeline Peters Hall, age 104, of Farmville, VA, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Harry and Lelia Peters.
Mrs. Hall was educated in Danville, VA, at the former Stratford School and at the Business College in Richmond, VA. She was a native of Keysville, VA, and moved to Amelia, VA, in 1928, with her late husband, George Stanley Hall, Sr. In Amelia she became an avid golfer, winning the Southside Women’s Golf Championship in 1939. After joining the Country Club of Virginia, she was champion in 1946, 1947, 1949, and 1951. Later on in 1960, she was champion at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club, in Virginia Beach, VA. She played in many Virginia State events,
Survivors include five grandchildren, Julie Hall Black of Indianapolis, Sally Hall Hanson of St. Louis, MO, Nancy Brobston, Mary Beth Hall, and Curtis Hall all of Fredericksburg, VA; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, George Stanley Hall, Jr., and her sister, Elizabeth Peters Tipton.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 3 p.m., in Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery, Keysville, VA. In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the Keysville United Methodist Church. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
