Austin Allen Hobgood

Austin Allen Hobgood, 90, of Keysville, VA passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and served on the USS Wisconsin Battleship. Austin was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Virginia; his parents, Alvin and Mattie; and two brothers, Tom and Jim Hobgood. He is survived by two sons, David Deborah, Howard Jackie Hobgood; granddaughters, Kimberly Kristofer Goin, Laura Mark Wilkerson; four great-granddaughters, Alexis, LeeAnne, Sydney, and Olivia; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved beagle, Minnie.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in the Ontario Christian Church, with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and all other times at his home. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
