Barbara Airwood Locke

Barbara Airwood Locke, 76, of Phenix, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 28, 2012. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 59 years, Preston. She is also survived by a daughter, Kathy Bryant and her husband, Ivan; five grandchildren, Bobby and his wife Krystal , Scott and his wife Shawna, Caitlin, Ashli and her husband Aaron, and Brandon; three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Kinley Bryant, and Maddox Reeves; a sister, Mary Tucker and her husband “Doot”; and a brother, William Arrowood Jr. and his wife Georgia. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Margaret Airwood, and a loving daughter, Kelly Locke Gwaltney. After her daughter’s death, Barbara and her husband raised their youngest grandchildren, Ashli and Brandon. She will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012, in the Phenix Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Rough Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Monday, January 30, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m
