Billie Cole Hare, 69 of Bastian passed away Tuesday, November 27th, 2012 at Kissito Healthcare Bland County in Bastian. She was born on April 29th, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Wayman Woodrow and Sophia Mae Howard Cole. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Mae Tharpe. Billie is survived by her husband of 29 years, Berman Patrick B.P. Hare of Bastian; two sons, Tony Bailey of Chesterfield, Virginia, and Scott Bailey of Brookneal, Virginia; four step-children, Deidre of New York City, Tony Hare, Jeffrey Hare and Sherri Hare, all of Amelia, Virginia; three grandchildren, Dustin Bailey, Tiffany Bailey and Amber Bailey, all of Powhatan, Virginia; a great-grandchild, Dustin Bailey, Jr.; an aunt, Winifred Howard; a first cousin, Carol Anne Howard Puckett and husband Tom of Pamplin, Virginia; four brothers-in-law, Preston Hare, Arthur Hare, Paul Hare and Larry Hare; four sisters-in-law, Alice Hare, Nancy Hare, Sylvia Hare and Bobbie Sue Hare; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends, including two best friends, Steve and Nancy Blackburn of Marysville, Ohio.
The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows Thursday, November 29th, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM, and at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia Friday, November 30thfrom 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 1st, 2012 at 2 p.m., in Mt Nebo Baptist Church in Keysville, Virginia. Burial will follow in the Mt Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is being served Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia.
