Carlene Cosby Ramey

Carlene Cosby Ramey age 73, of Drakes Branch, VA passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Evelyn King; and a sister, Kay Taylor.

Carlene is survived by Douglas Ramey; two daughters, Loretta Ramey and Lisa Shook (Greg) all of Drakes Branch, VA; four grandsons, Travis Parrish, Sean Parrish, RD (Devon) Ramey, and McKinley Ramey all of Drakes Branch, VA; five great-grandchildren, Kennadie Howerton, Rebecca Parrish, Aiden Ramey, Ean Cassada, and Kaylie Cassada; one niece, Margarite Hitt of Orange, VA; one nephew, Charles Taylor, Jr. (Melanie) of Goochland, VA; and a vast of other family and friends.

Carlene was best known as Memal to many.  She was well known in the county from working at Palmers Grocery and Red Bird Mini Mart for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA with interment to follow in the family cemetery Drakes Branch, VA.  The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
