Dicie Lacks Shores

Dicie Lacks Shores, age 85, of Farmville, VA, formerly of Chase City, VA, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Shores. Dicie is survived by two sons, Harvey D. Shores and wife, Pamela Royster Shores of Drakes Branch, VA, and William R. “Tom” Shores, Jr., of Farmville, VA; three sisters, Pauline Womack of South Boston, VA, Gladys Brumfield of South Boston, VA, Cathrine Stewart of Scottsburg, VA; one brother, Earnest Martin of Scottsburg, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Black Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, on Friday, August 16, 2019, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the Barksdale Cancer Foundation, P O Box 225, Charlotte Court House, VA 23923. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
