Dorothy ‘Dot” Toombs

Dorothy ‘Dot’ Toombs, age 81, of Saxe, VA passed away on February 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, Earl R. Toombs, by just a few weeks.

Dot is survived by two sons, Blake and his wife Jessica, and Barry and his wife April. Her life was brightened by three beloved grandchildren – Ethan, Emily, and Cayden.

For nearly forty years she counted the Toombs as her second family – grand-children, great-grand-children and cousins became her own. Dot loved to travel and adored animals. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Farmville Health and Rehab for the loving care Dot received these past months.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA. The Reverend Ralph Moore and Reverend John Craighead will be officiating. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
