Ethel Bailey Newcomb

Ethel Bailey Newcomb was born on June 11, 1929 in Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee to the late, Samuel and Valeria Bailey. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Vernon Newcomb, (They were married March 10, 1947 in Charlotte County, VA) and by son-in-law’s Willie (Monroe) Lacks; Luther Guill.

She is survived by her children: Roger Newcomb (Mary) of Swansboro, N.C., June Lacks of Randolph, VA, Linda Guill of Saxe, VA, Mike Newcomb (Barbara) of Drakes Branch, VA; grandchildren: Kevin Guill (Tara), Stacie Guill (Devon), Emily Isenhart (Chris), Audrey Nieters (Stephen), Joshua Newcomb (Alyssa), Angela Owen (Chris), Jennifer Lacks (Robert), Bart Lacks; twelve great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving sisters are Virginia Gillispie (Lewis) of Keysville, VA, Polly Davis of Carmel, Indiana; brother Phillip Bailey (Anita) of Farmville, VA. She was predeceased in death by two brothers: Kenneth and Vernon Bailey; sisters: Glenna Wade and Marie Jamerson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA with interment to follow in Public Fork Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
