Florence Ashworth Adams

Florence Christine Ashworth Adams, 82, died Friday, October 14, 2011. She was born January 19, 1929 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the late Lillian Dunn and Henry Stokes Ashworth. Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clifford Luther Adams; and four siblings, Elroy Ashworth, William Ashworth, Jeannette McGuire, Gertrude Jones. She is survived by eight children, James Adams of Winter Park, Florida, Wayne Adams Lynne of Jarrettesville, Maryland, Kathy Meadows Dave of Alton, Virginia, Thomas Adams, of Mt. Dora, Florida, Deborah Morris Phillip, of Rustburg, Virginia, Patricia Britt, of Keysville, Virginia, Ric Adams Cara, of Jacksonville, Florida, Angela Esatto Ed, of Purcellville, Virginia; three sisters, Merle Wallace Wesley, of Boydton, Virginia, Lois White Morris, and Carol Miller, all of South Hill, Virginia; one brother, Talmadge Ashworth Pat of Burkeville, Virginia; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2011, in Friendship Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, Virginia, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
