Frances Sheldon Thompson, 95, of Keysville, Virginia, died December 22, 2010. She was predeceased by her parents Clifford and Bessie Dixon, her brother H. E. “Buster” Dixon, her husbands, Grover L. “Buck” Sheldon and W. Carter Thompson. She is survived by her children, Virginia “Bunny” S. Cook and her husband, Wilson , of Burkeville, Betty S. Baldwin of Keysville, Grover L. Sheldon, Jr. and his wife, Jenness, of Keysville, Shirley S. Sigler and her husband, Michael, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, W. C. “Junior” Thompson and his wife, Doris, of Ft. Mitchell, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Before retiring, Frances and Buck owned and operated Sheldon’s Restaurant and Motel in Keysville for over 40 years. She was a member of Keysville United Methodist Church, The Order of the Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, and the Red Hatters. Frances was a faithful Christian and an energetic member of the community. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Sunday, December 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27 at 11 a.m., at the Keysville United Methodist Church . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Keysville United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 22 , Keysville , VA 23947 .
