Frances Throckmorton Swalley

Frances Throckmorton Swalley, 88, of Farmville, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. She was born on April 27, 1926, in Prince Edward County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Callie Throckmorton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Bert C. Swalley of Farmville, and her two brothers, Arnold J. Throckmorton of Augusta, GA, and Roscoe Reynolds of Farmville, VA.
Frances attended Layne’s Business College. She helped her father run Throckmorton’s store and took over after her father’s death.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Lou Garrett and her husband, Floyd Garrett; her two granddaughters, Lori G. Davis Rusty, and Tabbi G. Cifers Steven; five great- grandsons, Taylor M. Davis, Bryce C. Davis, Andrew B. Davis, Hayden C. Davis all of Farmville, Zachary A. Cifers of Midlothian; and one great-granddaughter, Brittany N. Cifers of Midlothian.
Frances was a very generous person who dearly loved her family.
The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Swalley is entrusted to the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA.
