It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Jack Randall Shook, who passed on March 10th, at his home in Keysville, Virginia after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Jack was born in Keysville, Virginia in 1939. He served in the Air Force and while stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, met his wife Wanda. He was active, during his life, in the Lion’s Club, as well as the American Legion, which provided venue to serve his country and his community. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; his son, Trace and three daughters, Alisa Andy, LaTonya Scott, and Kara Rob; grandchildren Alex, Adam, Kyle, Emily, Jace, Sara and Isaac; his sisters, Paige Ben and Debbie David. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Hospice of Virginia, Farmville branch. We would like to especially thank Mary Hudson and Mary Honebein for faithfully helping to care for our father until the end. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last month was a heartwarming blessing to the entire family.
The gathering of family and friends will be held honoring Jack on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, 110 H St, Keysville, Virginia. Reverend Ted Smith will officiate the graveside service at Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery, March 14, 2017 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the Shook family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.org. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.
