John Kennedy Scott

John Kennedy Scott, age 57, of Drakes Branch, VA passed away on March 15, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his father James R. Scott, “Jimmy” and his mother Shirley Adams Scott.

He is survived by two brothers,  James D. Scott “Danny” and Phillip N. Scott “Mickey”.  John has two sons, Johnathon Scott of Midlothian, and Dalton Scott in Tennessee.

The family wishes to thank everyone for the kind words and thoughts during our time of sorrow.

A small graveside service for anyone that wishes to attend, will be at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church at the Scott family plot, on Saturday April 01, 2023 at 2 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

“In sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, we commend to Almighty God our brother John; and we commit his body to the ground; earth to earth; ashes to ashes, dust to dust. The Lord bless him and keep him, the Lord make his face to shine upon him and be gracious unto him and give him peace. Amen.”
