John Ray Duffer

John Ray Duffer, 82, of Red Oak, VA, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at his residence. He was born on April 17, 1942, to the late Rufus Joe and Clara Lacks Duffer.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Duffer; two sons, Timothy (Kristy) and Matthew (Tori) Duffer; stepdaughter, Johanna; two brothers, Dr. R.R Duffer (Randy) and Joe Duffer; and four granddaughters, Heather, Allison, Addyson, and Hadleigh Duffer. John also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

John spent his life farming and enjoyed a long and successful career in drafting, design, and engineering with HB Zackry. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at Wylliesburg Baptist Church in Wylliesburg, VA, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM before the service. The family will also receive friends and family at the residence located at 19539 Kings Highway, Red Oak, VA 23964. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
