Mary Martha Light, age 82, of Victoria, VA, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011. Mary was a life long member of Tussekiah Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack E. Light; daughter, Maryanne L. Stearnes Spike of Victoria, VA; son, John E. Light Susan of White Plains, MD; sister, Ruby Ward of Amanda, OH; brother, Jesse “Hoppy” Roark of Cutler, OH; grandchildren, Richard Stearnes Lauren of Victoria, VA, Amanda Estep Chip of Crewe, VA, Ashlie Shealy Charlie of Ringgold, VA, Kyle Stearnes of Victoria, VA, Tyler Stearnes of Victoria, VA, Amber Light of White Plains, MD, Katherine Light of White Plains, MD; great-grandchildren, Anthony Stearnes, Cheyenne Estep, Kyrstin Stearnes, Hunter Estep, Madelyn Shealy; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Clarence and Lona Roark; great grandson, Trevor Cole Estep; sister, Josephine King; brothers, Van Roark, Clyde Roark, Carl Roark, Earl Roark, Harold Roark, James Roark, and Alonzo Roark.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in Tussekiah Baptist Church, Lunenburg, VA, with interment to follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria, VA. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, on Monday, January 31, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Victoria Fire & Rescue or the Victoria Library. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
