Mary Taylor Atkins

Mary Taylor Atkins, age 101, formerly of Green Bay, VA passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012. She was born in Whittle’s Depot near Gretna, VA on July 20, 1910. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Earnie R. Atkins after 66 years of marriage. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary was a member of Liberty Christian Church in Green Bay, VA. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce A. Nunnally of Meherrin, VA and Janice A Mottley and husband, Robert of Burkeville, VA; four grandchildren, Graham Nunnally and wife, Linda, Richard Nunnally and wife, Rhonda, Lisa Mottley Burns and husband, Eric, Bobby Mottley and wife, Melissa; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the Liberty Christian Church, Green Bay, VA, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery Fund, Meherrin Volunteer Fire and Rescue, or Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
