Melinda Meador Nelson

Melinda Meador Nelson, age 65, of Keysville, VA went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.  She was born on October 3, 1957 in Roanoke, VA. Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, Carper “Chick” and Ruth Locke Meador.

Melinda is survived by her husband, Julian G. Nelson; her son, Jason A. Nelson (Sherry); her daughter, Shelby N. McCarty (Chris); six grandchildren, Ashley, DJ, Lonnie, Carper, Lee, and Grant; two brothers, Bobby Meador (Pam), Larry Meador (Sandy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Melinda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.  She loved spending time on the ball fields watching her grandchildren play. Melinda enjoyed her social time as the godmother with her friends.  She was a former Charlotte County Public Schools bus driver and a Eureka Elementary School cafeteria worker and enjoyed her time with her students and colleagues.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2023, at Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery Keysville, VA.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
