Nellie Duffer Newcomb

Nellie Duffer Newcomb, age 96, of Saxe, VA, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014. She is survived by two children, Dorothy Napier and husband, Robert of Saxe, VA, R. Larry Newcomb and wife, Peggy of Saxe, VA; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Jones of Farmville, VA. Nellie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Newcomb; and a granddaughter, Janet Napier.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the Hebron United Methodist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hebron United Methodist Church or the Charlotte County Rescue Squad.
