Patricia Ellington Tucker

Patricia E. Tucker, age 77, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014. She was the daughter of the late John E. Weston and Onie C. Ellington and was also preceded in death by her brother, J. E. Weston, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Winifred E. Dunn and her husband Bruce, Patricia G. Brads and her husband David, and Aimee Tucker Perdue and her husband Frank; and five grandchildren, Peyton Dunn, Will, Nina, and Bonnee Grennon, and Lincoln Brads. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Marjorie D. Pugh, long-time companion Boyd Donel Nelson, her dog Lily, and lifetime friend Joanne Maxwell. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She spent many years helping to run her father’s general store before becoming Postmaster of Saxe for thirty years. Following her retirement from the Postal Service, she was a substitute teacher for Charlotte County Public Schools for twelve years. She was pianist at Southall Memorial United Methodist Church for thirty years.
Services are scheduled 11 a.m., Friday, January 31st at Southall Memorial United Methodist Church, Saxe, Virginia, with interment in Saxe Cemetery. Visitation is at the home Saxe on Thursday, January 30, from 7 to 8:30. In lieu of flowers, please consider Southall Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
