Peggy Tharpe Hunter

Peggy Tharpe Hunter age 87, of Drakes Branch, VA, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford W. and Dorothy T. Tharpe; her husband, Wilson K “Sleepy” Hunter, Sr.; her son, Wilson K. “W.K.” Hunter Jr.; and two sisters, Carolyn Furr and Vickie Lawless.

Peggy is survived by two sons, David K. Hunter and Eric W. Hunter; one grandson, David Keith Blackford; one sister, Samantha T. Good; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy was a member of Drakes Branch Presbyterian Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved her dog Sunshine and her visits from David who brought her, her favorite cappuccino coffee.  Peggy also loved and collected Lighthouses.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Drakes Branch Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA.  The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Drakes Branch Volunteer Fire Department.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements
