Raymond L. Hicks

Raymond L. Hicks, age 92, of Keysville, VA went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was born an identical twin to the late Noah A. and Mary M. Hicks on May 9, 1932. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Doris Jean Dix Hicks; seven brothers, Rhesa J. (twin brother), Edward ‘Bootsie’, Linwood, Willie T., Bennie Lee, Lonnie B. and Billy Ray Hicks; sister, Betty Hicks Church; son-in-law, Jerry T. Tharpe; and daughter-in-law, Linda Hicks.

Raymond is survived by his son, Bobby Ray Hicks (Darlene); his daughter, Rose Marie Tharpe; two grandchildren, Thomas ‘Chance’ Tharpe (Jamie), Amanda ‘Brooke’ Brock (Charles); four great-grandchildren, Grayson Davis Brock, Weston Thomas Brock, Piper Luna Tharpe, Callie Elizabeth Brock; two sisters, Lucy Evans and Edith Mae Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved his family and his cat ‘Dusty’ deeply, ensuring that they were always well provided for.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte Court House, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
