Rebecca Jones Dix

Rebecca Jones Dix, age 88, of Meherrin, VA passed away at Wayland Nursing Home on Monday, February 3, 2020. She was the widow of Robert Eugene Dix.  Becky is survived by two sons, Robert “Bobby” Dix, Jr. and friend, Teresa Cobb, Richard “Ricky” Dix and his wife, Kathy; a nephew, Michael Jones, his wife and two sons . She was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Lucille Chappell Jones; her brother, Billy and his wife, Maria.

Becky was born June 12, 1931 and was a graduate of Worsham High School. She worked for a number of years as a secretary for the late Rep. John H. Daniels and the late Rev. Agee at Ash Camp Baptist Church.  Becky was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2020 in the Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
