Robert French Roberts Iii

Robert French Roberts III, age 91, of Drakes Branch, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Elsie Brown Roberts; and a brother, James W. Roberts, Jr.

Robert graduated from Norfolk Academy, attended Hampton-Sydney College, served in the United States Army, and was a member of the Charlotte County Ruritans.  He worked at Spaulding Equipment Company for many years, after his retirement he enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing, and working in his yard. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Anneliese M. Roberts of Drakes Branch, VA; five children, Robert F. Roberts IV (Dawn) of California, Wolfgang Gholson (Theresa) of Heathsville, VA, Linda G. Elliott (Mike) of Drakes Branch, VA, Deborah Deaton of Orlando, FL, and Carrie Kiester of Colonial Beach, VA; a sister, Susan R. Reed of Kilmarnock, VA; a brother, Thomas Janney Roberts of Charlotte, NC; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday,  March 16, 2024, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA.   A reception will follow the memorial service at Kings and Priests Coffee Shop, 150 King Street, Keysville, VA. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
