Ruby Powell Martin

Ruby Powell Martin, age 94, of Keysville, VA, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Elgin and Izettie Powell.  Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, George Russell “Jim” Martin.

Ruby is survived by two sons, George W. Martin (Barbara), Charles R. Martin (Vanessa), three daughters, Linda M. Overstreet (Bob), Janet M. Fix (Steve), Nancy M. Buchanan (Gene); nine grandchildren, Tammy Hall (Shannon), Crystal Hensley (Brandon), Annette Shepheard (Gordon), Dwayne Martin (Fay), Ken Martin (Jane), Cindy Schmidt (Chip), Robbie Overstreet (Angie), Matthew Overstreet (Sarah Beth), Travis White (Katelyn); fifteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 11 a.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, with interment to follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Keysville, VA.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
