Scarlett Napier Chappell

June 18, 1951 — November 16, 2019

Scarlett Napier Chappell, 68, of Chester, VA passed peacefully on November 16, 2019 at home with her family by her side. She is now resting in peace and looking over us from above, adoring the special wings, she received when she reached heaven. Scarlett was born June 18, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Oddie James Napier and the late Mary Lee Reinhardt Napier.

She is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Robert O. Chappell. She was the proud mother of two wonderful children, Keith Chappell and Ginger Terrell (Brian). She was the grandmother of three beautiful granddaughters, whom she often referred to as her little darlings Kinsley, Kimberly, and Katherina. She was the sister of seven brothers and sisters Elton Napier (Audrey), Kenneth Napier (late Brenda), Donnie Napier (Mary Owen), the late James Napier (late Lula Belle), Barbara Haley (late Bobby), Annette Burns (Gary), and Nelda Napier, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Her family will remember her as a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, aunt and grandma.  She could light up a room with laugher and put a smile on the face of anyone who crossed her path. She loved spending time with family, collecting broaches, antique shopping, and enjoying quality time at the farmhouse, which was her happy place.

The family would like to thank everyone who supported Scarlett during her courageous fight with cancer. Her spirit and memories will live through us all and we will miss her greatly.

Family night will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA.
