Shirley Ann Fowler

d. April 22, 2024

Shirley Ann Fowler, age 85, of Meherrin, VA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on April 22, 2024. She was surrounded by the most important thing to her on this earth, her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Fannie Foster; her sister, Virginia Clark; her husband, Raymond “Fatty” Fowler Sr.; and the second love of her life, James “Jimmy” Newman.

From these unions, six children were born; Raymond Fowler Jr. (Bonnie), Lester Fowler, Gayle Allen, Kyle Fowler (Sissy), Brian Fowler (Lisa), and Jamie Williams (Tyrone); Nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Also, left to cherish her memory are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others that lovingly called her Grandma.

Most of her life she was a homemaker. She loved to cook for her family and many others throughout the years who stopped in anytime they could to enjoy her famous mashed potatoes and sweet tea. She will be greatly missed but we will all do our best to carry on her legacy, and love unconditionally the way she loved and taught us.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home Keysville, VA with interment to follow in Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
