Susan Marie Shelmadine

Susan Marie Shelmadine, 72, of Keysville, VA passed away on January 17, 2020. She was born on April 28, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Ben and Josephine Drabek. Susan graduated from Maria High School, Class of 1965. She was a passionate animal lover and became involved with AKC performance events with her golden retrievers. Susan established Fireside Retrievers and was well known breeder for over 35 years. She will be missed by the Fireside Family.

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her sister, Rosemary Black. She is survived by her husband, Patrick; her sons, Paul (Carrie) Janda, John (Christy) Janda; step-children, Bryan (Roberta) Shelmadine, Shelley (John) Russell; fourteen grandchildren, Victoria, Alexander, Tyler, Zachary, Brian and Louisa Janda, Julia, Jeffrey, Leanna, Elisabeth and Christina Russell, Annamarie, Zachary and Christopher Shelmadine; and many nieces and nephews. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
